Dear friends,

Greetings from our dinner table here in Poland — where “Taco Tuesday” is still a cherished family tradition even on the mission field. As we reflect on the first months of this year, our hearts are full of gratitude for each of you. Your prayers, messages, and encouragement continue to strengthen us more than you know. Thank you for walking this journey with us.

One sobering reminder of why the Lord has us here came on February 24th, the four-year anniversary of the beginning of the war in Ukraine. Because we live and minister among many Ukrainian families, this date carried deep emotional weight. These are not distant headlines for us — these are our friends, neighbors, and brothers and sisters in Christ. We ask you to continue praying for comfort for hurting families and for God to bring an end to this conflict. We are grateful to partner with you in ministering hope in the midst of hardship.

Over the past several months, much of our ministry has involved focused team meetings and planning as we seek clarity in our church-planting strategy here in Poland. While some of this work happens quietly behind the scenes — through conversations, writing, and prayerful evaluation — we are thankful for the growing unity and direction God is giving our team. We look forward to sharing more specific steps with you as we continue moving forward in obedience to Christ’s call.

A significant transition for our family has also taken place. After a season of attending a Russian-speaking Ukrainian church, we have now begun actively participating in a Polish church. This change has been both challenging and incredibly helpful. It is strengthening our language learning, deepening our understanding of Polish culture, and allowing us to build meaningful relationships with Polish believers — all essential pieces as we pursue church planting here. We are grateful for how the Lord is using this step to shape our ministry and our hearts.

Life has also included many everyday experiences that remind us of God’s faithfulness. January and February brought heavy snow — a fun adventure for the kids with sledding, snowball fights, and winter memories. By March, the sun began to shine again, bringing renewed energy as the kiddos could finally ride their bikes and spend more time outdoors. We also navigated our first flat tire experience in Poland, which turned into a full day of unexpected logistics. Through it all, we were deeply thankful four teammates (Nick & Jill) who stepped in to drive the kids to school. These moments remind us that God builds community even in small inconveniences.

One especially encouraging highlight was attending the SHARE Conference near Budapest, Hungary, from March 1–6. This annual gathering is designed to support missionary families, particularly in areas of education and  encouragement for missionary kids. Our children were able to connect with other MKs who understand the unique joys and challenges of life overseas. Meanwhile, the adult sessions provided refreshment, perspective, and spiritual encouragement for Emily and I. We returned strengthened and thankful for this investment in our family.

During the conference talent show, Silas even submitted a humorous video project he created — a fun moment that reflects how our kids are learning to express themselves and grow in confidence despite the many transitions of missionary life.

As we look ahead, we remain deeply grateful for King Jesus and His call to make disciples of all nations. It is truly an honor to serve on your behalf here in Poland. The work is sometimes slow and often unseen, but we trust that the gospel is powerful and that God is faithfully building His church.

Thank you for praying, giving, and standing with us. We love and appreciate you more than words can say. We look forward to sharing more in our next update about what God continues to do.

Serving our amazing Jesus together,

Micah, Emily, Silas, Eden, Olive, & Amos
