Good Afternoon, Mt. Carmel family! While I know that life has been very different for most people these past few days, I find great comfort in knowing that we serve a God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever! I certainly miss seeing everyone! (Well, most everyone! There’s always that one person that we turn and walk the other way when we see her coming. I know most of us feel that way about Lisa Gerrity, but don’t tell her. We’re willing to put up with Lisa just to have Brian and Noah. LOL!)
We have been working hard to prepare content to share with our church family—and we will continue to do so. Just because we have social distancing doesn’t mean we need to have spiritual distancing. In fact, God is never distant from us—regardless of our condition! In fact, it was in our most sinful and wicked condition that He chose to come to us! Oh, what a Savior!
Wednesday Bible Study
This evening at 6 p.m., the pastors will be going live with a Bible study that will be a real blessing to your heart. Don’t think of this as an invitation to a Bible study, but as a transformation of your heart and life! I truly believe tonight’s lesson has the chance to change our lives in a big way. Here is a link that provides some more information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvQdTI18aWs.You can watch the study live on our either my own personal Facebook page or on Mt. Carmel’s Facebook page—or you can join us at https://www.mcrbc.org/pages/watch-live.
Elementary Student Chapel
Pastor Micah completed a chapel message to our elementary students. You will find that at https://youtu.be/iRfBF1CbqCQ
Youth Group Message
Pastor Micah is currently working on preparing a youth group message for our teens this evening. As soon as that is completed, he will upload it to Facebook and YouTube.
Gospel Circles
Even though we are not together in the same room, we can be together in the same book or devotion—still growing in the Gospel. One very easy way to do that is through the YouVersion Bible app for smartphones. I just started a new devotional this morning entitled, “Shaped by the Gospel.” If you would want to join, download the app and then click this link: https://bible.com/p/24696349/316ffee5729267bb0bc8fd95ad92ce38I would love to read this devotional together with you!
Finally, Church family, if there is anything you need, please do not hesitate to let us know. We will not know your needs, your prayer requests, and your praises if you do not share! One lesson we can all learn from this pandemic is that we cannot relegate Church to just two hours a week on Sunday mornings. We are the Church everywhere we go, to everyone we meet, and at every moment of our lives! May we be the Church God has called us to be!I truly believe your heart will be encouraged this evening by the Bible study! Please make plans to join us at 6 p.m. EST. God bless you!
