Good chilly morning, Mt. Carmel family! I wrongly assumed a few weeks ago that spring was in the air. Since that declaration, snow has fallen twice, the temperatures have dipped below freezing numerous times, and the strong wind blew all the hair off my head! :) One glorious truth, however, that warms my heart each morning—regardless of the weather outside—is that each day offers a new supply of God’s mercy and forgiveness (Lam. 3:22-24)!
RECAP:
Yesterday was a joyful gathering of God’s people! We sang some beautiful, timeless hymns together, heard from Tamara Richards and Louise Buzzanca about the missional calling of the Life Center in our community, and completed our six-week series on “Highlighting the Home.”
We shared an overview of the ultra-dsyfunctional relationships in the life of Jacob—yet how the life of his son Joseph offers one of the clearest displays of the Gospel in the entire Old Testament. How encouraging to know that God’s grace is greater than all our failures, our plans, and our past! My prayerful aim was to celebrate God’s grace and encourage weary hearts. The message can be found on our website, YouTube channel, Spotify podcast, or iTunes podcast.

REMIND:
Members' Meeting: Due to the absence of many because of Spring Break, the scheduled members’ meeting for yesterday morning was postponed until this Sunday, April 3. Please reach out to a deacon or pastor if you have any questions about the following recommendations presented by the deacons:
Spring Break and Life Groups: To give our faithful workers a well-deserved rest, the middle school youth group, Kid’s ministry, and Hebrews Life Group will not meet this week. However, the Tuesday morning ladies’ Bible study will still meet in the Grove House at 10:30 a.m. Also, Frank Good’s Life Group on the Gospel of Luke will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Wood Cutting Work Day: This Saturday, April 2, the woodcutting ministry of the church has a work day planned to stockpile a reserve of wood to help the needy in our community experience the love of Jesus. If you would like to help, the group will be leaving the Mt. Carmel parking lot at 8 a.m. on Saturday and working until approximately noon. You can text or call Ron Keyser 540.244.9907 to let him know you will be participating.
