Good afternoon, Church Family! I wanted to give you some more important information regarding the return to indoor gatherings this Sunday morning.
1. Service Time: We will be starting at 10 a.m. with only one service this Sunday. The service will also be available online at www.mcrbc.org as well as our Facebook and YouTube channels.
2. Parking: I would suggest parking on either the Luray or Stanley side of the church building rather than using the back parking lot. The doors located downstairs will not be used to enter the building this week. Of course, if you are in need to some exercise, you could always park in the back lot and walk up the hill to get your heart pumping and primed for the service! :)
3. Entrance: We will have signs directing you to enter the building through the hallway with the classrooms and bathrooms. We will reserve the glass doors outside the auditorium for exiting and handicapped entrance.
4. Seating: We have removed a significant number of chairs from the auditorium in order to maintain the social distancing necessary for those who are not family members. There will be ushers happy to help you find the number of seats you or your group need.
5. Kids: Your entire family is welcomed to join us in the auditorium. We will not have kids’ church or our nurseries open this Sunday. If you would feel more comfortable allowing your children to be more free, the cafeteria will be open to you where the service will be broadcast live.
6. Worship: This is what I am waiting for! I cannot wait to sing, pray, worship, and glorify our King Jesus with fellow believers!
7. Offering: First, let me thank you for being such generous and faithful givers! There have been many weeks during this pandemic when we have reached—and even exceeded—our weekly budget. Praise God! While I would still encourage giving online or through our church app, there will be boxes installed near the doors that we will be using to collect offerings—either on your way in or out. The plates will not be passed.
8. Dismissal: We will try to slowly exit the buildings using all the exit doors in order to prevent any bottlenecks.
9. Mission: Our mission has not changed. We are still a disciple-making community with hearts of faith moved by the promises of God contained in the Gospel. The mission of following Christ and making disciples is still our calling. The Gospel is still our motivation.
10. Prayer: All the preparation and work we are doing is in vain if God’s power and presence is absent. As Moses said in Exodus 33, “If the presence of God does not go with us, we do not want to go.” Church family, please, please, please, please be in prayer—not just for this Sunday, but for every day of our lives. We must ask and believe in faith that God will do exceedingly more than we could ever ask or think! I cannot wait to see all that God is going to accomplish in and through our lives this Sunday!
With much love,
Pastor Brian
